Our groomers are selected through Groomit proprietary vetting system while fully insured and trained.

We excel in ensuring your pet receives all the grooming they need to a professional standard. Our groomers have a passion for pets like no other, and to top it all off, they perform their work in your home!

We only use all-natural products while providing a low-stress and comfortable grooming experience.

How do I download the App?

Our App is available in the Play Store for Android and App Store for Apple. You can download the app here. We also have the option for booking from a desktop computer.

Why does Groomit request my mobile phone?

When signing up, it is important to provide a phone number to ensure the safety and well-being of the pet.

Also, the groomer might contact you if any issues arise during the grooming process. Having a phone number will allow us to send you updates regarding your appointment, and our groomer might call you for instructions on the way to your home.

Why Do I have to verify my phone number?

Verify your phone number now to ensure the safety and security of your account. With phone number verification, you can rest easy knowing that only you have access to your sensitive data.

Why does Groomit need my credit card?

Groomit requires your credit card information to secure your appointment booking. This ensures a smooth experience and allows them to process any potential fees and refunds. Never pay by check or cash.

I don’t have a computer. Can I still schedule appointments?

Groomit offers not only web booking but mobile app booking. Schedule from your phone, just download the app here and follow the instructions.

I forgot my password. How can I recover it?

To recover your password go to the Sign-in page at https://groomit.me/user and press on Forgot your password? And follow the instructions.

I don’t want to download the app. Can I schedule appointments from my appointment?

Groomit offers not only mobile app booking but web booking. To book from your computer, just go to https://www.groomit.me/book

Do I have to Sign up to be able to book appointments?

To provide the best service and keep your information confidential, we need you to sign up and fill out the requested form.

Do you accept bookings via phone call?

Currently we only accept app and web bookings, for Customer Service you can call (888) 396-7170

Can I use cash to pay?

Never use cash or check to pay for a Groomit service. All the payments at groomit are processed via the app or the web. You can tip the groomer via our app or with cash.

How can I tip my groomer?

NOnce the booking is completed, you can go to the Groomit or Web app under “My Appointments” and tip the groomer. You can also tip your groomer on cash after the appointment.

Why do I need to verify my credit card?

Card verification protects merchants and customers against fraud caused by lost or stolen cards.

I wasn’t able to verify my credit card.

After entering your credit card information, we will debit a temporary amount from your bank account. To verify your payment method, you must enter this amount in the form from your bank statement.

How can I add a new payment method?

Go to my account in the payment method section and press Add New.

When do I get charged for the service?

With Gold and Silver services, your card is charged a hold amount at the time of booking, similar to reserving a hotel. You will see an authorization hold amount charge for the transaction. This will convert into a full charge after the booking is completed. Never pay by check or cash. With the Eco package, the service is prepaid.

Do I have to pay in advance?

Only the Eco package is prepaid. Silver and Gold services are paid once the appointment is completed.

How much does the service cost?

What are the required vaccinations?

Vaccinated against rabies, distemper, and Parvo-Virus viruses, and vaccinations are required.

Upon request, the pet owner will provide proof of vaccination to the assigned groomer and current veterinarian information. In exceptional circumstances, the decision of the assigned groomer shall be respected.

What is the difference between In-Home and Mobile Van grooming?

If you select in-home grooming, the groomer will attend the appointment at your home and provide the complete service to your pet at your house. By selecting Mobile Van, the groomer will park their van near your home and provide the service to your pet in the fully equipped van.

What pets are the groomers able to service?

We provide grooming services for dogs and cats.

Do you provide service to puppies?

We only provide service to puppies that have rabies vaccinations up to date.

Do you provide service to kittens?

We only provide service to kittens that have rabies vaccinations up to date.

Do you provide service to senior pets?

The decision to have a groom can often be difficult, especially for seniors or pets with health problems. These procedures may expose hidden or aggravate known medical problems during or after the grooming, increasing the pet’s stress. We have agreed to follow specific guidelines to protect your pet and the person providing the grooming service. If either Groomit or the assigned groomer believes taking your pet to a veterinarian is necessary, they will contact you first for your input. You are then responsible for covering any expenses related to veterinary care.

What if an accident happens to my pet?

There is always the possibility an accident could occur. The grooming equipment is sharp, even though the assigned groomer uses extreme caution and care in all situations. Problems could occur, including cuts, nicks, and scratches. This can usually happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around; every effort will be made to ensure your pet is groomed safely, but an excited pet can be dangerous to keep working on. We reserve the right to end the grooming session even if the groom is not completed it.

My Pet has Fleas & Ticks.

Please let the assigned groomer know if your pet has fleas or ticks. A flea infestation can lead to tapeworms and other health problems. The assigned groomer will select the flea and ticks treatment add-on if needed. However, we strongly suggest you have your pet tested for Lyme complaint If ticks are found.

Do you provide nail cuts only?

No, you must select one of the three packages we have available. All include the nail cut.

What service options do you provide?

We have three packages available: Gold, Eco, and Silver.

Do you bathe the pet first?

The hair needs to be clean to get a smooth and even haircut. Depending on your pet’s breed and style, the groomer may do a “rough cut.” After the rough cut, your dog is washed, and fluff is dried, at which point the haircut is completed. In other cases, we may wash and dry the pet entirely before taking off any length.

How do you bathe Cats?

By standard, we use natural dry shampoo; if you need a wet shampoo, please discuss it with the groomer during the appointment.

Can flea and tick treatment rescue my dog from fleas in one session?

We make it as convenient for your pet to get groomed asap. We will give you a one-hour window within which the groomer will arrive. Appointments are available the same day within hours.

What is the de-matting fee?

A matted dog requires patience, caution, and exceptional skills, as it is potentially easy to accidentally cut a pet with nods to the skin. It is also painful for the dog, which makes the job even more complicated, as sometimes they get aggressive.

The groomers must consider the time loss and the money spent on tools; in most cases, the blades must be trashed once a matted pet is shaved down. Equipment maintenance is essential and costs money.

How do I know my pet is matted or severely matted?

A matted pet is when a pet’s fur has dense tangles and knots. It's a painful condition that can lead to other health concerns, such as infections or skin irritations, and can also mask other health issues or parasites.

Why the shave-down has a cost if the groomer didn’t demat my pet?

Shaving the affected area of the coat is the safest and least painful way of dealing with such cases. It also comes with the benefit of revealing any skin issues, which can be likely in previously matted areas.

Unfortunately, in some cases, this is much too dangerous to do. Large knots close to the skin are hard to snip off safely, and pulling on them causes great pain.

Do you accept aggressive pets?

The pet owner must notify Groomit and the assigned groomer if their pet has bitten or is aggressive. If necessary, a muzzle may be used during the grooming process. Groomit reserves the right to refuse/stop service for biting or aggressive pets and/or may charge an aggressive pet fee in addition to regular grooming fees. Customers understand that bites may be reported to local authorities according to the law in each state.

What does the special handly pet mean?

Suppose your pet experiences difficulties during grooming and requires extra time or another groomer's assistance to complete the grooming safely. It encompasses pets who growl, hiss, bite, & paw at equipment or groomer, which can cause severe injuries to both.
An overly aggressive pet may still be subject to Non-Groomable Policy.

At Groomit Market Place, we love showing off the fantastic transformations our furry clients undergo during grooming sessions. We will never share any personal information or sensitive details. If you're not comfortable with us sharing photos of your pet, just let us know and we'll keep them private. Your pet's safety and privacy is our top priority, always. Please contact Customer Support if you don’t want your pet’s photo in our social media channels or website.

Where can I ask the groomer for care instructions?

We added a new field for that specific request in the booking process. Now you can enter specific instructions to the groomer, so your pet gets the service as your preference.

Can I book a cat and a dog for the same appointment?

We don’t allow dogs and cats in the same appointment because each groomer's skills are specific to each pet type.

Can I book more than one dog in an appointment?

Yes, you can have as many dogs as you need in the same appointment.

Can I book more than one cat in an appointment?

Yes, you can have as many cats as you need in the same appointment.

Why can’t I select a same-day appointment if I pick the Eco package?

The Eco package only allows you to book seven days in advance. If you would like to book for the same day and your pet needs a haircut, you can choose the Gold Package.

What do the yellow slots mean in the calendar and the time picker?

We have implemented this new section called Waitlist. This will allow picking a specific date and time even if the groomer is unavailable. We will keep an eye on the request and the groomer schedule. If a slot on your desired date becomes available, we will contact you to confirm the appointment.

How long does it take to groom my pet?

The time it takes to groom a pet can vary depending on the breed and thickness of the dog's coat. An average session should take around two to three hours. For example, a short-haired dog may take around 20 minutes to groom, while a long-haired dog may take around an hour. Additionally, the size of the pet will also factor in, and extra options may add to the overall time.

Many clients in NYC do not groom to breed standards due to the level of maintenance required. Regardless, providing pictures allows you and your groomer to see your options if you are looking for a specific style.

When will I be charged for the service?

For Gold and Silver packages, your card is charged when the booking is completed, like reserving a flight. You will see an authorization charge for the transaction, which will drop off within 3 to 5 business days. Processing times may vary depending on your bank.

Which are the acceptable payment methods?

You may pay with a credit or debit card. A surcharge of 3% will apply to all credit card payments.

Should a dog’s ear be plucked?

Our general recommendations are to pluck the ear hair regularly to avoid buildup of dirt & ear wax, and it's much easier on us and your pet to pluck a little ear hair than to wait and have a ton to try to remove at once. Removing a lot of ear hair can create irritation, so our policy is that we are happy to do it, but if you choose not to, then it needs to be done by your veterinarian to avoid complications.

I am booking an appointment for the first time. Can I pick my pet groomer?

Yes, you can always choose your groomer. During the booking process, under groomer availability, select “Choose Groomer” The available groomers in your area will be listed, you can see their bio and rate.

How to make my groomer a favorite groomer?

You can favorite a groomer by pressing the heart icon next to their name. You will find their profile information under My account, Groomers. Also, you will be able to favorite them from the past appointments. If the heart is filled with red means is already favorte.

How do I take off a groomer from my favorite groomers?

You can remove a groomer from your favorite groomer by pressing the heart icon next to their name. You will find their profile information under My account, Groomers. Also, you will be able to access it from completed appointments. If the heart is filled with white means is not a favorite.

How do I rate my groomer?

Once the appointment is complete, in the app or website under my appointments, you will see the groomer profile and the chance to tip and rate the groomer.

Do I have to tip the groomer?

It is at your discretion to tip the groomers. You can tip within our app, website, or cash.

What is the difference between the Frist available groomer and choosing a groomer option?

If you select the first available groomer option, you will have more slots and probably find the best date and time for your appointment.
If you prefer to book with a specific groomer, you must adjust to their availability.

What instant confirmation means?

This means the groomer you pick will confirm the appointment as soon as you book.

How do I know if the groomer is trustable?

All groomers pass a background check, provide complete details and personal information, and are approved by our specialist team. You can also find the groomer’s bio, rating, and number of appointments completed.

Do I get the same groomer each time?

Some clients prefer to work with the same groomer. We recommend this if your pet tends to be anxious and nervous. Many dogs like the familiarity of having the same groomer as it allows them to not only feel more comfortable and relaxed, but it also allows the groomer to establish a consistent relationship with the dog or cat. If you want the same groomer, just "favorite" the groomer you choose within the Groomit app or web.

When should I use the option “First Available” groomer?

This feature is for when you prefer having more availability options that selecting an specific groomer.

How does the Mobile grooming service work?

Once the customer selects one of the packages associated with the mobile van service, we will assign you a van at your desired time. The van will arrive near your home, where the pet owner will be responsible for dropping off and picking up their pet. The pet owners will contact the groomer throughout the grooming via app or text message.

Do I need to provide anything for the groomer?

The mobile van comes equipped with everything needed for grooming. The pet owners are responsible for dropping off and picking up their pets as soon as the groomer arrives or finishes the grooming.

How long does it take to finish a grooming appointment?

The average grooming time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. However, specific circumstances relating to size, coat, and matting times can vary. The specific skill of the groomer can also impact the time it takes to complete grooming.

Can I book two or more pets for mobile grooming?

Yes, both mobile and in-home grooming have an option of 1 or more pets. You must go through the booking process and select yes on the “add another pet to this appointment” prompt. Once that is selected, you must select the pet(s) you wish to be added to your pet profiles. However, booking a cat and a dog in the same appointment is not allowed.

There is no space on my street to park. Can I still book?

Yes, you can still book an appointment. However, please note that due to this circumstance, groomers may start your grooming appointment later than initially scheduled. The groomer will allocate the best possible area to start the grooming and complete your service in the most effective way possible.

What service do you offer for mobile grooming?

We offer a full grooming service for cats and dogs in our GOLD package and a bathing service for cats and dogs in the SILVER package. Details of the package are listed in the booking process. Additionally, we have add-ons of specific treatments you may give your pet, such as a whitening or shed control treatment. Full details are listed in both the app and website. Do you keep my pet in a cage?

No, we believe in the best possible care and comfort for the pets we serve. Our vans are spacious and provide a comfortable area for pets to relax whenever they are not groomed.

How do I know when the groomer arrives?

Once the groomer arrives, you will be notified through both your app and text message. Pet owners must drop off their pets ASAP, so groomers have enough time to complete the grooming until their next appointment.

What type of products do you use?

A credible natural manufacturer makes our products. These items were selected based on the best experience and quality observed from their use on pets. We pride ourselves in creating the healthiest and highest quality experience for our customers and their pets.

Do I have to wait outside the van while my pet is groomed?

No, the groomer will notify you via the app or text when your pet is ready for pickup. Please ensure to arrive on time for pick up, as groomers will most likely have another appointment after completing their current one. We respect the time of your pet parents and hope they also respect our groomers' time and schedule.

Why is there an extra fee for the mobile van service?

Mobile van grooming services have a cost of operating a mobile van, including fuel, maintenance, and equipment, which can also add to the overall cost. Moreover, mobile grooming vans are equipped with all the tools and equipment necessary for grooming, including water supply, electricity, grooming table, and more. Installing and maintaining these facilities in the van is also an additional expense that may make the service more expensive.

Do I have to provide water or power to the mobile van?

Our Mobile Grooming Van is self-contained and has ample power and a 50-gallon heated water supply.

How frequently should I groom my pet?

We recommend grooming your pet every 6 to 8 weeks. However, no one knows your pet as you do! Choose the grooming schedule that suits your pet to keep them happy and healthy.

How can I avoid matted fur?

You can do this by proactively taking care of your pet’s coat, always giving them a good brush before they end up in a matted condition. Keep in mind that every breed of cat or dog needs varying amounts of grooming to keep them maintained. For example, a Poodle will require much more daily work than a short-haired Pug.
We at Groomit are here to help you keep on top of grooming. Having them regularly looked at by a professional can be a great way of keeping them looking great and helping them stay healthy.

Can I book for the same day?

Yes, booking the same day has a fee, and according to the time you are booking, the groomer’s availability might decrease.

Can I book four weeks in advance?

Yes, you can book at any time. If you book four weeks in advance. To save more, we recommend you choose our prepaid Eco package.

I booked but didn’t receive any confirmation; what should I do?

Frequently confirmation is sent in the next 5 minutes after the appointment is requested. However, please allow 1 hour to receive the confirmation. If you haven’t received it after that time, please contact customer service at help@groomit.me with the subject: I didn’t receive the appointment confirmation.

Do the groomers clean up after the appointment?

Yes, all groomers must leave your place as it was found before arriving. They may request for a vacuum.

Does the groomer have insurance?

Yes, all groomers and pets have Premium Insurance.

Can I reschedule my Eco appointment?

No, You cannot reschedule unless the groomer changes the appointment. If so, please reach out to customer service to change your appointment’s date and time.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Rescheduling appointments are available for the Silver and Gold package and you can do it before 6 pm the day before your appointment.

A fee applies only when you reschedule your appointment after 6 pm the day before the appointment was scheduled.

If you reschedule after 6 pm the day before the groomer is on the way, you will be charged 50% of the appointment’s total amount.

If you reschedule while the groomer is on the way to your appointment, you will be charged 75% of the appointment’s total amount.

If you reschedule once the groomer arrives at your appointment, you will be charged 100% of the appointment’s total amount.

How can I rebook my latest appointment?

To rebook your last appointment, go to “My appointments” and under completed find the last one and press rebook.

What to do if my groomer is not showing up?

You can contact the groomer on our app, or if you still have questions, reach out to support them on our online live chat on the website.

Can I edit my appointment service?

When the groomer arrives at the appointment, you can request any package upgrade or add-ons.

No, you are charged individually for each appointment, 7 days before the scheduled date. This ensures flexibility and convenience for managing your recurring bookings. Recurring appointments can be canceled at no charge until the appointment is billed, then, it will be subject to the standard cancellation policy for any upcoming schedule.

There are no charges for canceling your recurring subscription. However, if an appointment has already been charged, cancellation policies will apply for that specific appointment.

If you cancel a confirmed appointment, you will receive a credit in your account for the amount charged. This credit can be used toward future bookings.
